November 7-14, 2021 is Drowsy Driving Prevention Week – an initiative by the National Sleep Foundation to inform about the risk of drowsy driving following the shift to wintertime.

Reports have determined that the risk of fatal traffic accidents is increased as much as 6% in the days following the shift, due to the disruption of sleep caused by the shift.

Metronaps applauds the efforts of the NSF and encourages everyone in the US to think twice before getting behind the wheel for extended periods, get plenty of sunlight during the day, and take power naps to make up for lost sleep at night.
